Showmax and Laugh Africa announce the Roast of Minnie Dlamini

Johannesburg, South Africa, February 16, 2024 – Laugh Africa Comedy Festival and Showmax are set to get tongues wagging with “The Showmax Roast of Minnie Dlamini.” Scheduled for Friday, 5th of April at the Sandton Convention Centre, this event marks Minnie Dlamini’s debut in the world of comedy roasts. Anticipated to be a night of humour and jeering, Dlamini looks forward to a lighthearted take on her illustrious career and personal anecdotes.

Minnie Dlamini shares her enthusiasm, “I ended off the year with my show ‘Curated’ on Mzansi Magic, embracing humour about myself and societal happenings. The roast is about having fun and not taking myself too seriously. I may also get an opportunity to dispel many of the rumours told about me. The roast is fundamentally a celebration of my career and there’s nothing I love more than a good laugh.”

Laura Cooke, Head of PR & Communications at Showmax, adds, “Partnering with Laugh Africa for Minnie Dlamini’s roast aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering unique and compelling local content.”

The Roast will feature a star-studded lineup, and will be recorded live on the 5th April 2024, and will air exclusively on Showmax, and scheduled to air exclusively on Showmax on the 26th April 2024.

Laugh Africa is committed to delivering a roast that not only entertains but also honors the essence of what it means to be roasted – a celebration wrapped in humor and affection. “With the Showmax Roast of Minnie Dlamini, we aim to curate an experience that embodies this spirit.
